Signs your electrical wiring is outdated
An electrical installation has a useful life of 20 to 30 years. After that, the wire insulation degrades and the risk increases.
Warning signs: flickering lights, warm outlets or switches, an occasional burning smell, breakers tripping often, or old-style fuses instead of modern breakers.
Also check if: your home was built more than 25 years ago and the wiring was never updated, or if you've added a lot of new equipment (AC, electric shower) without expanding the circuits.
A preventive inspection costs very little and can catch problems before they turn into a fire or equipment damage.
